Irem was raised in Istanbul and spent years studying and working abroad in the UK, Spain, Turkey, Germany, and the United States. Due to her vast international experience, Irem speaks multiple languages including Spanish, English, Turkish. Irem holds a degree in Chemistry from Istanbul Polytechnical University, a Master’s degree in International Business and Marketing from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, and is a WSET Diploma Holder. In 2019, Irem became a WeinAkademiker after writing her thesis on the impacts of Big Data in the Wine Industry and is currently completing the Master of Wine program. Irem held the positions of Marketing Manager and Wine Buyer with AYZA NYC based in New York and Senior Global Brand Manager with Torres Family based in Barcelona. Irem also worked for several years as a winemaker in Spain, Cavas Torello, and teaches WSET Level 3 courses in Barcelona. Irem joined BevZero as Business Development and Sales Director, EMEA in 2021.
