The Pub Show talks to 2025 exhibitor Pukka Pies about their full-on flavour, their newest range of gastro pies, and the company's commitment to growing in a sustainable manner. 

Tell us briefly what you do

Pukka – the nation’s No.1 Pie brand – a family-owned company with a passion for pies and savoury pastry.

What makes your business unique?

We’ve proudly been serving the nation for over 60 years across a wide range of sectors and customers. We’re known and loved both in and out of home for full-on flavour through our quality ingredients and multiple award-winning recipes. This, along with our manufacturing expertise and production capabilities mean it’s safe to say, we know what we’re doing when it comes to pies and pastry.

Who are some of your key clients?

We work across many businesses and sectors including pubs, fish & chip shops, stadia, leisure, education and retail. Offering both branded and unbranded opportunities, there’s a Pukka for everyone.

Why did you decide to exhibit at The Pub Show 2025?

We’re delighted to be attending The Pub Show for the first time in 2025 to showcase our latest range of Gastro Pies, baked specially for the gastro pub dining experience. This is a fantastic opportunity for us to connect with people across the industry.  

What are some of the key trends in your sector?

In a recent consumer survey, we found the following insight:

  • When asked where people would purchase a meal like pie and chips 71% responded a pub.
  • When asked what is important to consumers when considering a pie meal, 19% said a tasty filling, 16% good quality pastry, 16% filling/meat quality, 12% rich gravy
  • When asked what they would like to accompany their pie, 58% said chips, 48% mash, 40% pies, 36% mixed veg, 27% broccoli, 26% mixed veg and 25% carrots

What is your approach to sustainability?

We plan to grow our business in a sustainable manner with a minimal impact on the environment, and we will prioritise reduction of our carbon footprint to achieve net-zero by 2050.

We have set emissions reduction targets through the Science Based Targets initiative, with levels required to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement.

Our Bakery uses 100% renewal energy sources, all pie foils and cartons are 100% recyclable.

As a business we proactively support local and national charities in a variety of ways including through donating pies- Last year we donated 342,000 pies.

Do you have any new or upcoming products/services that you’d like to share with our audience?

Our latest launches include a new range of Gastro pies, baked specially for the gastro pub dining experience. This range consists of two new recipes – Steak & Ale and Chicken & Mushroom – each pie deep filled with full-on flavour, encased in golden crispy puff pastry and hand finished with sprinkles of crushed black peppercorn or thyme.

For hassle-free serving, we offer a fully branded tabletop oven package that comes ready with a selection of pies and serving solutions so you can offer Pukka pies straight away.
